Transplace Named to Food Logistics’ Top Green Providers List for 2020

July 23, 2020

DALLAS (July 23, 2020) — Transplace, the premier provider of logistics technology and services, today announced the company has been named to the prestigious 2020 Top Green Providers list by Food Logistics, the only publication exclusively dedicated to covering the movement of product through the global food supply chain.

Food Logistics’ annual Top Green Providers recognizes companies whose products, services, or exemplary leadership is enhancing sustainability within the food and beverage industry. Each year, the criteria for earning a spot on the list becomes more stringent for applicants. For example, the expert editorial staff evaluates a company’s participation in such programs as the EPA’s SmartWay and other recognized sustainability programs; facilities that are LEED-certified, and/or feature solar panels, LED lighting and other energy saving installations and retrofits that produce measurable reductions in GHG emissions, to name a few of the criteria.

“Our annual Top Green Providers award recognizes companies whose products, services or exemplary leadership enhances sustainability within the food and beverage industry. From technology that reduces a fleet’s carbon footprint to software that helps shippers drive energy efficiency to systems and processes that help reduce the carbon and environmental impact of its customers’ supply chains, these top green providers continue to practice the ultimate in sustainability year over year,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics.

Transplace is an active member of key initiatives focused on protecting the environment and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, including the EPA’s SmartWay® Transport Partnership, American Chemistry Council’s Responsible Care® program and Inbound Logistics Green Supply Partner.

“We are honored to be recognized for our sustainability programs,” says Frank McGuigan, chief executive officer of Transplace. “We have made significant investments in Transplace Network Services to support shippers’ sustainability efforts through mode optimization, multi-shipper consolidations, cross-client collaboration, and more. Leveraging AI, machine learning and real-time visibility of logistics networks, we help shippers and carriers boost operational performance and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.”
