HOW CAN THE OCEAN SERVICE BE UTILIZED?

Lower Density Cargo (Northbound Example)

  • Domestic or local drayage performed in single or double dispatches from domestic or local origin to port 40’ High Cube (HC) container transits Gulf to U.S. port, converting to higher cube 53’ Dry Van (DV) at destination
  • Transplace provides Bill of Lading (BOL) guidance to ensure control
    • Multiple 40HCs convert to fewer 53DVs
    • Conversion reduces frequency of final mile dispatches
    • Local/regional loads deliver direct from 40HC

Higher Density Cargo (Northbound Example)

  • Domestic or local drayage performed in singles or doubles dispatches from domestic or local origin to port
  • Leverages Mexican regulations and equipment capacity
    • 26 metric tons/57k lbs (40HC, “single” dray)
    • 23 metric tons/51k lbs (40HC, “double” dray)
  • Transplace provides an “optimized” solution derived from cargo specifications / characteristics
  • Permitted round-trip service on 40HC from port
    • Conversion to 53DV for one-way inland services
    • Overweight 40HC services vary, and are subject to local/state restrictions
