Jim is a strategic financial officer/operating leader with diversified expertise in the private equity channel and with energy and industrial sector-focused Fortune 500 wholesale distribution corporations and other private enterprises. His Board of Directors experience includes working directly with TPG, Goldman Sachs, Lone Star, BBH, Center Rock, and several other current and previous Board positions.

Prior to his Board positions, Jim was Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer-North America & EVP at MRC GLOBAL [NYSE: MRC] (formerly McJunkin Red Man Corporation), where he led all financial and operational aspects of the largest segment of this ~$5 billion revenue Fortune 500, energy-focused, industrial pipe, valve, and fitting distribution corporation. He transitioned the business from <$2 billion family-owned enterprise to a $5 billion+ Goldman Sachs private equity-owned corporation (2007) and then to a public-owned business through an IPO in 2012. Earlier MRC roles included Senior Vice-President – Accounting, Information Services, Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to MRC, Jim was an auditor with KPMG/Main Hurdman, CPAs in New York City, working primarily with Fortune 100 companies and other industrial firms.

In addition to Jim’s industrial and commercial Boards, Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the West Virginia State University Foundation, and is actively involved in several community-related non-profit organization Boards and the US Naval Academy.
Jim received his B.A. in Accounting & Economics from Lehigh University, and is a licensed CPA.
