Transportation TIP List: Week of May 21, 2017

Posted - May 24, 2017

Over the past few weeks, stories surrounding technology services, software and security have taken up much of the supply chain news bandwidth. This week’s TIP List includes a few of these buzzy tech trends, such as the release of the Uber Freight app, the recent WannaCry ransomware attack and the impact of real-time load tracking for carriers. We’re serving up the latest in our high-tech list below!

  • Real-Time Load Tracking: At What Price?: Truckers are increasingly expected to reassure shippers and receivers that every load will be delivered successfully and on time. Real-time track and trace technology and live load visibility could be a standard offering for carriers in order to keep customers happy.
  • It’s “Beyond Time” to Modernize U.S. Infrastructure: The lack of U.S. infrastructure modernization is causing an increase of expensive bottlenecks at ports, cities and elsewhere – and these bottlenecks are responsible for expensive delays in an increasingly-complex worldwide market.

What safety measures do you have in place to keep your organization secure in the event of a cyberattack?
