Slideshow: Top takeaways from JOC Inland Distribution Conference
The JOC Inland Distribution Conference in Atlanta Nov. 6 to 8 brought together nearly 300 shippers, carriers, logistics providers, and technology suppliers at a time of critical change across the North American transportation landscape. Rising rates, tighter capacity, and the potential impact of the upcoming electronic logging device (ELD) mandate for truckers fueled much of the discussion. Shippers see a vise tightening on supply chains in 2018, and they are looking for ways to rein or at least mitigate cost increases. There is a rocky road ahead.
