Frank McGuigan was Selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive as a 2013 Pro to Know
February 14, 2013 (Dallas, TX) – Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology solutions, today announced that Executive Vice President of Operations Frank McGuigan has been selected by Supply & Demand Chain Executive (S&DCE) as one of its 2013 Pros to Know. In its thirteenth-annual edition of Pros to Know, the magazine identified supply chain executives who exemplify outstanding leadership and work with customers to meet industry challenges.
McGuigan joined Transplace via its acquisition of SCO Logistics in April 2011, where he was President and CEO, and most recently served as Transplace’s senior vice president of contract logistics. McGuigan was selected as 2013 Pro to Know for his strong capabilities in integrating operations and growing the Transplace organization, and delivering significant value to its customer’s operations.
“Since becoming a member of Transplace, Frank has extended his impact from working in a chemical vertical to gaining a broad understanding of Transplace’s breadth of customers and all the industries we serve,” said George Abernathy, president, Transplace. “McGuigan demonstrated exceptional leadership in leading a talented team to continuously improve Transplace’s operations and develop outstanding synergy among our broad range of customers.”
Supply & Demand Chain Executive began requesting nominations for Pros to Know in late 2012. After reviewing nearly 400 entries, the publication’s editorial selection committee determined the applicants that best fit the criteria.
“The number of issues that can present themselves in one’s business truly run the gamut—from a dysfunctional product component found within a manufacturer’s tier three level of the supply chain to clarifying a business’s procurement strategy for reduced costs,” said Barry Hochfelder, editor, Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “It’s not always initially clear as to how broad the scale of the supply chain and its challenges really is. If there are those present in the industry who are working to overcome such issues and grow the global supply chain at the same time, they should get the recognition they deserve for their achievements.”
“I am truly honored to be recognized as a Pro to Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive,” said McGuigan. “At Transplace, we set out to establish successful processes and innovative solutions that help our customers navigate supply chain challenges and risks -.both sort- and long-term. As a strategic partner, Transplace delivers value to customers’ bottom line with growth opportunities and guidance in streamlining operations to improve business functions.”
