Transplace Recognized with Distinguished Industry Awards for Commitment to Sustainability
Respected Supply Chain Publications, Organizations Honor Leading 3PL Provider for Dedication to Its Collaborative Transportation Fleet Program and Customers’ Sustainability Efforts
November 9, 2011 (Dallas, TX) – Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, today announced it has been recognized by three highly respected supply chain organizations for its commitment to environmentally conscious transportation practices and helping customers meet their own sustainability goals. The third party logistics (3PL) provider is helping shippers reduce their carbon footprint by implementing best practices, route efficiency and load optimization. With Transplace balancing shipment modes, time and costs against service expectations, customers are effectively enhancing their supply chain operations.
In 2011, eyefortransport presented Transplace with the Best 3PL for Sustainability award along with its award for Best 3PL for Consumer Goods. Transplace was also recognized as one of Inbound Logistics’ Top Green Supply Chain Partners and was part of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2011 Green Supply Chain Awards.
“With our customers’ continued focus on sustainability, Transplace is committed to providing the tools and services necessary to successfully pursue their own sustainability initiatives,” said Transplace President George Abernathy. “Transplace is honored to receive recognition for its sustainability efforts from these distinguished organizations. We strive to provide our customers with the same dedicated attention to sustainability. Transplace continues to apply environmentally responsible solutions within our own operations such as our Collaborative Transportation Fleet program.”
The Collaborative Transportation Fleet program allows Transplace to collaborate with different customers and strategically create capacity in areas where it is needed most. By serving multiple shippers and creating continuous moves, these dedicated fleets help reduce empty miles and fuel consumption, ultimately lowering the carbon footprint for both carriers and shippers.
Each year, eyefortransport acknowledges 3PLs that deliver excellence in logistics operations and superior service to their customers. For the second time, Transplace was voted Best 3PL for Sustainability by participating North American manufacturers and retailers. This year’s award winners received the most customer votes in the five year history of the program.
Inbound Logistics selected Transplace as a Top Green Supply Chain Partner for its focus on placing freight with SmartWay Partner carriers in order to achieve an industry-leading reduction in greenhouse gases and significant diesel fuel savings. Transplace was among 75 companies selected for this award, which highlights logistics service providers in several categories that were determined to be dedicated to supply chain sustainability.
Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s Green Supply Chain Awards were designed to identify companies that are implementing sustainability practices into their supply chain strategies, and are committed to achieving measurable sustainability goals within their own operations and supply chains. These awards also acknowledge supply chain service and solution providers that are helping customers reach their sustainability goals.
