Transplace Recognizes Customer and Employee Excellence with Company Awards
Leading 3PL Presents Awards During 2011 Shipper Symposium to Honor Individuals for Commitment to Outstanding Service, Organizational Improvement
June 21, 2011 (Dallas, TX) – Transplace, a leading provider of transportation management services (TMS) and logistics technology, recognized customer and employee excellence during its ninth annual Shipper Symposium by presenting USG Manager of Transportation George Macko with the Distinguished Customer Award and Transplace Operations Manager Chris Lackey with the company’s first annual President’s Coin.
The Distinguished Customer Award was presented by Transplace Executive Vice President & COO George Abernathy to Mr. Macko, who was selected for his outstanding service in developing a strong, strategic partnership with Transplace. Macko stated, “It is an honor to be selected by Transplace for this award and to be recognized for the strong relationship we have created over the years. From the beginning, it was evident that Transplace was the right partner for USG, and over the past 10 years we have demonstrated that two great companies can do great things when they work together.”
Transplace also presented the President’s Coin to Chris Lackey as part of the company’s ongoing employee recognition program. Transplace President & CEO Tom Sanderson presented the award to Mr. Lackey, who was selected for his role in developing a coin recognition program, which was inspired by challenge coins presented in the military.
“Transplace is committed to pursuing excellence throughout our organization and in the relationships with our customers,” said Sanderson. “It is also important for us as a company to recognize the success achieved by our employees and our customers. It is a privilege to present these awards to George Macko and Chris Lackey. They truly demonstrate the commitment that it takes to achieve success and drive growth throughout Transplace.”
During the Shipper Symposium, Transplace also held a charity benefit dinner with all proceeds benefitting the Ronald McDonald House of Dallas – a charity selected by this year’s headline speaker Roger Staubach. The Ronald McDonald House program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families so they can stay close to their hospitalized child at little or no cost. Through the generous gifts of the event attendees, Transplace was able to raise $20,750 – a record for donations raised during a Shipper Symposium event.
