International Security and Compliance
Recognizing the threats to national security, governments are increasingly calling for companies involved in international trade to be compliant with changing security measures. Importer, suppliers, and exporters, as well as transportation and logistics service providers need to adhere to sometimes complicated regulations and security standards. The complexity and number of parties involved in most supply chains creates the need for a thorough, well defined set of interrelated security processes. Transplace International, through its strategic alliance with Tectus, offers Security Solutions to help you ensure compliance, foster your relationships with key government agencies, and enhance the flow of your product across borders. You focus on your business, and we will work to ensure that repeatable, secure business practices are in place. The services we offer are as follows:
C-TPAT
The US Government has formed a partnership with the trade community to assist in the war against terrorism. C-TPAT, the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism, is an initiative that applies to companies importing into the US or those that provide the infrastructure or services to support those imports. Our methodology involves dissecting your supply chain, processes and partners to identify vulnerabilities, putting in place a plan to address the vulnerabilities, and providing the tools to ensure ongoing compliance. We support both the C-TPAT Certification and Validation processes, and have the resources to provide global security audits as needed. Benefits include expedited processing of customs entries, a reduced number of inspections, an assigned Customs account manager and the satisfaction of commercial pressure to participate. Similar to C-TPAT, we can also help with other international initiatives like PIP (Partners in Protection for Canada) and AEO (Authorized Economic Operator for Europe).

Export Regulations
The myriad of export regulations can often be confusing. The complexity of Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) regulations, combined with the growing concern about increased penalties for violating export compliance standards, can create huge challenges. Does your recordkeeping meet BIS criteria? Are you classifying goods and obtaining licenses correctly? Is your ERP system linked to a Denied Parties screening for every transaction? How about Deemed Exports? Transplace International Security Solutions staff will audit your policies, processes, record keeping and systems. We will design and help implement a solution that is compliant with all BIS regulations. These are mandatory for all exporters, and we have the expertise to provide top notch support.
Security Project Management
Transplace International Security Solutions staff use a disciplined methodology for attacking various types of security projects. We have effectively managed a number of security initiatives including physical security assessments, creating corporate security manuals, implementing formal risk assessment processes, and helping companies integrate security provisions into their core business practices and infrastructure. Our team views security as a core competency, and our customers realize the benefits of a focused engagement and experienced staff.
Compliance
There are various types of compliance that organizations wrestle with in order to be effective. Examples include compliance with government regulations (ITAR, FDA, EPA), vendor compliance (routing guides, documentation functions, safety measures), social compliance (SA8000, the WRC Code of Conduct), or even business process compliance (related to opening new offices or acquisitions). Transplace International has the expertise to help organizations assess their current state against a set of standards and put in place a plan to move towards and maintain compliance. Further, we have a state of the art, hosted application for assessing and tracking the transformation of entities towards compliance. Our people, processes and tools combine to create a straightforward, measurable path to compliance.
